Zapatos Vive, La Leche Sigue
April 24, 2009
Valencia (and 2oth?) Viva la pinturalution. That is one hell of a moustache. And a stare.
The shoes live, the milk stuggles? Iguanas? Amesia? Whaa? (Ahh, French, you are so not helping me with Spanish.)
The man also wore a mean hat:
Seriously — he is staring through the freakin’ camera, past the viewfinder and into the retina of the photographer.
That laser-like gaze and the bandoliers and you have an intimidating presence indeed. I need to perfect that stare for meetings at work.
OK, if “lucha libre” means “free fight,” then you only have to translate “sigue,” which turns out to mean “follows,” and now everything makes sense.
Igaulidad = Equality and Amnistia = Amnesty. Easy peasy.
But you already figured all that out, right?
Yeah, bit a of a difference between lucha libre and leche libre. Revolutionary slogans are usually pretty fácil though. Si se puede!
The great thing about living in the Mission is my Spanish is quickly progressing past its previous SNL/Sesame Street level.
Verbs kill me though. Really need to learn to conjugar.
Caught this guy in Oaxaca.

Ha, I initially though you meant that Oaxacan Bakery on Mission.
Oh, and I liked your “RESEr” sidewalk shot the other day.
Sweet, thanks.
